IEEE CUSB (Cairo University Student Branch) invites you to celebrate the "Software Freedom Day" which is held in "Elsawy" lecture hall at the Faculty of Engineering , Cairo University on the 24th of September.
Software Freedom Day is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)

Abstract
Nowadays, the whole world is moving towards Open Source software, as you can modify the source code of the application to satisfy your requirements, Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. More precisely, it means that the program's users have the freedom to run the program, for any purpose , study how the program works, and change it to make it do what you wish , redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor , and release your improvements to the public ,so that the whole community benefits .
So, Open Source became an essential need in engineering career and many applications now are based on open source solutions, So, IEEE Cairo University Student Branch in association with the OSUM clubs in Cairo University are organizing the Software Freedom Day.
Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about of the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business -- in short, everywhere! .
SFD empower all people to freely connect, create and share in a digital world that is participatory, transparent, and sustainable ,SFD is a  global education of why transparent and sustainable technologies are now more important than ever.
